... and continuing from my previous post, well done to the curator at the Baltic for this image by Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen at the gallery entrance which I think captures the spirit of "North" perfectly. But then so many of her Byker images do.

Fisherman's hut at Dunwich, Suffolk. This hut used to display a nice metal FISH sign which I think someone stole a few years ago.

I went to the Four Corners Gallery in Bethnal Green to listen to the talk "Half Moon Photography Workshop: the inside story."
The speakers included Mike Goldwater, Ron McCormick, Jennie Matthews and Paul Trevor.
And nice to see Ed Barber remembered on the poster outside. A very interesting story. I never did visit the original Half Moon Gallery but did buy Camerawork magazine for a while.

The ship in the background is called Oregis, and had run aground at Tynemouth following an engine failure. This is from March or April 1974.
The tug is the Northsider to assist with recovery.
